Hi, I recently just did a resistance mod and when I opened it up the first time, I've noticed that the spring had snapped so I stuck something in there and used the longer of the snapped spring. When I tested the wheel out after, I noticed that my neutral became gear 3 and my paddle shifter didn't work properly. Any suggestions? Would I have to buy a new shifter if that is even possible?

Post some pics of the inside of your shifter and i'll have a look at them. I have done a fair amount of work in all 3 parts of the G25.

Check the wires to the two potentiometers and make sure none of them have come loose or broke off.

I don't think you can buy a replacement G25 shifter if you damaged it, but if you're playing PC games you can buy a better aftermarket shifter, it just won't work on GT5:P and the PS3.

I just opened it up again and saw that a wire broke off, any suggestions on fixing that? I usually play it on my PS3

The wire needs to be soldered back on and it should work 100% again. It was one of the 6 wires the leads to a pot, right?

^^ That shifter looks awesome. Are there any aftermarket shifters at all that work with the PS3 (Gran Turismo 5) and the G25? I have a G25 & a Playseat and I find that the shifter is not built to the same standard as the wheel & pedals.

Not that I know of. I know Fanatec is coming out with a wheel that should be a nice step up from the G25. It works with PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 as well... i'll be trying it out when it's released in a few months.

I've soldered the wire back to it's original position and the gears 1,3,5 still do not respond.

It has to be the pot that moves back to front (not side to side), like, the pot on the side of the shifter that would turn from (if it existed) the back seat (2,4,6 gear) to the front (1,3,5 gears). One of those three wires is not connected properly or you've done more serious damage.
