Thanks dude. Yes everyone is welcome to come take a listen once its rolling again. I am building this for everyone to enjoy, or hate. lol
Last year it was loud as hell but this year im taking it to the next level, should be interesting. Possibly the last BIG rebuild i do to it.

///LOUD LOAD\\\

Its actually a Jimmy. :D That vibraflex is crazy, look at the door pics you can see how well it comes off. I have atleast 1 hour in each door removing it with a hammer and chisel. If you want some i can get it for you.

How heavy is Vibraflex?

///LOUD LOAD\\\
03-27-2009, 03:35 PM
Vibraflex comes in a square meter sheet and i would say about 15-20 pounds per sheet. It has some mass to it and is pretty brittle when cold. You can not cut it unless it has sat in the sun for a while and even then it dulls knife blades super fast.

But good news is i got my subs in today! :eek:

What are you doing with that jumble of wires at the dash?

///LOUD LOAD\\\
03-28-2009, 10:42 AM
Bails i believe the gar is a go! IF you are up to it come along always a good time in the gar.
All them wires are just whatever wires lol. Never cleaned them up when i gutted the interior, just worked around them. :nut: Before the dash goes back in all the wiring is going to be re done for everything on the dash. With the amount of pressure in the cab i will have you want to make sure all your connections are good, cause it is going to get the shit rattled out of it. lol

Sub specs can be found here http://www.dcsoundlab.com/home.html
No listed TS parameters because there are different options that change these specs that you can do to these subs, but power handling is 1500 rms conservative but by world finals i will probably have a Stetsom 4k2d per sub so thats 4200 rms each.

About the alt, i got mine in 2005, and last time i talked with Rob, he told me he was waiting on a few parts..... You would have to talk to him about that. His alts are worth the wait i will tell you this.

For amps i have 4 Stetsom 4k2d so 1 amp per 2 subs for now. We will see how that does depending on the #s may have 4 more before finals! http://www.stetsom.com.br/eng/DetalhesProduto.aspx?c=7425&cat=172
At this point i dont know what to expect from it. Have so much to test and even more to finish building.....

Thanks guys.
As for the shows i will be holding a few in Calgary this year. Infact last year i held the only show in Alberta....... Competition seems to be lacking, we need to turn this around this year but i need everyones help! My first show will be a earlier and smaller show. Hope to get a few new guys out for this one kinda a introduction to the scene. Then a bit later in the year i will put on a BIG show! Full of giveaways, raffles, and one of a kind trophies. I will probably be giving away a couple of $1000 subs at this show so you may not want to miss it. :thumbsup:

Well the world record in Extreme is 181.7 now. Only 2 cars in the world have done over a 180 and both run Stetsom amps. My truck will fall under Extreme 2+ which is the highest possible dB Drag class, but it is not being built for dB drag but for Bassrace which is a 30 second average to music. No short 3 second hummmmm then over, its a full 30 second run full out! Bassrace class im in the 159.9 class which is also the highest class for that.

As for how this will stack up hard to tell right now it should be one of the loudest Bassracers out there, yet im still running much less cone area and power then the other top dogs in that class. Last year i would have done 2nd in Bassrace 159.9 had my window not came out in qualifying. Last year i has 6 12s and 17,000 watts, going against guys with over 30,000 watts and 24 12" subs (winner) and one dude with 8 soloX 18s (2nd place). Thats alot of cone area right there!!!

It will be a good year for Canada at finals again cant wait to start the season.

I do have my own side business called A Team Audio, named after my competing name of "The A Team". I deal with real competition brand car audio, not generic box store stuff. The gear i use and sell i am not afraid to put my name behind. This is not my full time job though, maybe one day but not just yet. For now im just happy hooking people up with serious gear for cheap to get more people into competition. Thats my goal to bring competition back to life in Alberta. BC has huge support, most shows go 40-100 cars!!! We need that in Alberta again like back in the early years 1999-2003.

this depends on what you think good sounds like? I mean music over 160 dB isnt natural and by any SQ stand point sounds horrible! But if you look at it as a ground pounder and how clear the and controlled the bass is then yes last year sounded great. This year will be even louder, even lower, and even more crazy then i hope anything in north america in Bassrace. Thats a big goal but i feel it can be done with enough tuning and tweaking.

after driving over 15 hours in this thing last year, i can vouch that it sounds very good. with the subs turned off the front stage really shined. it was all very clear and deafening loud when turned up.

Ya i have a Pioneer in there now Bails. Castlegar was the 1st and last show for the Blapnk.
For bassrace you want the most consistent bass closest to your vehicles peak frequency you can find. Last year i used a track off the Bassrace disc you get with your membership, but alot of guys use Jezzy Airforces, or various Lil Jon songs.

Yes thats where i learned everything i know about building as well. Out of High School i got into wood working for 3 years building custom curved windows and everything else. Learned alot of good habits especially when it comes to laminating wood.
As you can see the clearances behind the front subs and the wheel wells and roof that was all drawn up by hand to scale to ensure it would fit. Im still old school when it comes to that stuff i wold rather draw it myself then have have a draft done on a computer.

Brought Jimbo to lift today for the first time. I must say it impressed me. Even at its loudest last year i could handle it, but for the first time powering up this year i could not take it for any longer then 20 seconds. I dont think the mirror is a good idea. I mean it would look cool but good chance it will break. And i have bad enough luck. lol :nut:
Ya pissing off neighbors is just kinda unavoidable. Thats the problem, but i try to make noise during the most respectable times not really trying to piss anyone off. :D

Thanks guys this is why i built it!!!

Got some #s laid down yesterday. Im sure it could be a bit louder with a new and properly sealed loading wall but this will do for now.
Also thinking im going to put like a black screen or mesh behind my door grills.

I saw a vehicle driving by my house in Boulder Creek that had "Loud Load"
on the back of it. I doubt there are 2 of you...
From this thread, it looks like quite the project.

Looking great Clay. The sound refractions between the cone to the metal, and back again would be nasty.... but from a looks stand point that looks sweet.

I would have used chrome bars to stretch across the way with a milled out "Macrom" placard across a couple of them, but for an SPL vehicle from hell, why not. :dunno:

Are you stalking me? lol Ya next time you drive by and im working on the truck stop in and say hi why dont you.

Graham the sound is not interrupted by the grills at all.

Had some overheating issues with the truck, turns out the clutched fan was giving out so had to replace it. Now i hope it makes it to Castlegar and back this weekend. Its a long drive and alot of hills to not have a cooling fan that works.

Thanks for coming along Bails.
The trip was a total disaster for myself and Team Riprock. Both our trucks lost head gaskets, but my truck majorly overheated!!! SO now it needs a new engine.
:cry:

I will try to get this thing back together for the June 7th show in Calgary, but no promises. I am going to be hard pressed for time.

well here is a little update on my build. Doing a new loading wall should have it all back together by time my show happens i think.
