look it up, there are alot of reasons why. i wouldnt just say it. the 88's and 89's arent the same, if you know anything about mustangs you wouldnt question what im talking about.

03ozwhip is right.

MAS air was first installed in 1989. The earlier systems were speed density...not capable of "learning". They took/take all their calibrations from a pre-configured table (basically an if-then-do algo), it has 'some' built in deviation ranges +/-, but not enough to make any big changes.

Meaning the pre-1989 EFI would require a "chip" to compensate for changes from stock or possibly - get a stand alone controller that would let you override or build a custom program because all of the mods done to this car would mean nothing if the fuel or timing were never adjusted.

Oh and nice car, but the paint could be improved upon. Do you still have the back seats or did you get rid of them after you installed the delete kit??

alright so considering that... you can still build an 88 like an 89

Yes, but not without some significant mods to the stock 88 that were clearly not listed in the description of the vehicle. Hence, he assumed it was an 89.

It is a valid question that I would have asked if 03ozwhip had not asked it first.
