Hey all, I am sending an audition video to Montreal today and I just finished editing the file and exporting it to my desktop.

It is in .m4V (mpeg4?) format and I wanted to know if most people should be able to view this video? Is it very common? The same file in quicktime .mov which I usually send is huge...about a gig and this m4v is only 50mb approx...manageable with yousendit.

Is this going to be an issue with PC users if that's what the casting director has? It opens fine in quicktime on my mac....

Thanks!

I get issues sending .movs and .mp4s to clients all the time. Mostly when I am sending stuff out of house it will be a .wmv.

A lot of workplaces don't have quicktime, or don't let employees download programs themselves.

Yeah but this is a casting director, used to these types of files...I've sent her .mov before with no issues, what I need to know is if someone can open .mov will they be able to open mpeg4 typically?

Thanks!

mpeg4 is a file type supported by iTunes, PSP's, iPods, Most Mobile Devices, etc. Native Apple Hardware support I believe?
The videos FPS varies from 24-25

m4v is an apple version of mpeg4. There are a few variations on mpeg4. If they have quicktime they can watch it. If they can watch .mov then they probably have quicktime or something that supports it.
