View Full Version : Cypress Hills, Saskatchewan - Anyone know the area?

A friend of mine is getting married at Cypress Hills provincial park, Saskatchewan.

The reception is at Cypress Hills Resort Inn, but the rooms are all gone.

Apparently it's down to condos, cabins, or camping. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about this area, and could recommend any condos or cabins near by?

Try Maple Creek... small town of 2000, about a 20 minute drive to the North of Cypress Hills. They have a motor in and a hotel downtown.

I love Cypress Hills but we always stayed in Elkwater Lodge which is the AB side of the park.

being a person who has lived in Maple Creek and worked at the Resort in Cypress Hills...

IMO .. the motels in Maple Creek are pretty scuzy..

if i were you.. i would look for another couple and get a condo and split the costs..

Haha really? When were you living in the Creek? I lived there from '95-'97.

Why not just stay in Medicine Hat? About 35-40 minutes, probably faster with dry roads/good weather.

What's the ski hill near there? Elkwater?

^ Yeah its kind of a long drive to make a a couple times a day.
I'd say either Maple creek or Walsh, a VERY small town also close by.

well if you can drive fast you could prolly make it to maple creek in that time but doubtful if you can make it to cypress hills in 40 mins... prolly closer to an hr would be my best guess if there arent Po-po around
