Didn't they do a total power out for "Honey I Blew Up The Kid"? I forget whether it was just the strip or the entire city but I remember reading it was the first time in history that all the lights had been turned off at once.

Kinda sucks that Calgary had a 2% drop in usage this year (my guess is usage for they city can fluctuate that much without Earth Hour). I actually wanted us to show higher usage again like last year!

If they REALLY cared for the environment, how about getting rid of some freakin' street lights?!? We don't need one every 2 freakin' meters. Yeesh.

I agree.
I would prefer fewer lights on the straights and brighter lights at residential intersections. There are a few intersections where you cannot see pedstrians - especially after a trip home on Deerfoot with headlights caked in crap.

YES!! Have you see how bright Stoney Trail is?? Fuck I don't even need my headlights going down that road. No one needs so much lighting. Light up cross walks and leave straight stretches of road sparsely lit. Kind of like the US. Pretty much any interstate that runs through a city is NOT lit. perfect! Make use of vehicular headlights.
