Just picked up that card from those representatives of Vector on campus,

has anyone worked there before? What did you do? How flexible were the hours?

I've heard it's basically as scam. You try to sell knives...

It's pretty lame, it's door to door selling knifes with no base pay rate, and you have to find your own customers and show them. Also have to buy the knife set for $200 to start the job.

I wouldn't work there.

You will go into an interview thing with a few other people and be told that only one of you will be hired (which apparently is BS).

You have to buy the knives at a discounted price and then sell them.

The thing is though that they don't really give you anyone to sell to. they tell you to start with your family and get recommendations for other friends and family. I thought it was rude to try and con your family into buying these simply because it was how i made money.

I wouldn't go as far to call them a scam...but you will have to sell a lot of knives in order to make a decent living off it...and it will take you time to get a decent costumer base in order to make enough to live on.

If you are going to school...i wouldn't do it, at all, and even if i wasn't going to school, i wouldn't do it.

Be a bartender or sever at a bar, you will make plenty there.

A good friend of mine has worked there for 5-6 years. He has gained a lot of good sales experience and contacts by working there, kid can sell anything. He has flow down to Dallas Texas to give a presentation to other reps on how to sell better haha. If you are dedicated and put in a lot of time you can make good money at it; he made right around 40k in his grade 12 year earning 50% commission. But if you aren't outgoing and are not able to deal with people you will not do well.
I agree with hell raiser...it is not a scam, like FHTM, the product you are selling is very good. the knives are awesome and i know a lot of people who own a set and love them.

I saw a bunch of poster ads at the university c-train station for these people while I was driving Southbound Crowchild Tr.
Apparently you can now apply to Vector by sending a TXT/SMS message to some number like 77777 with "Apply" in the message body.

This is a sweet place to work if you don't mind alienating your family and friends!
Otherwise don't bother.
