They are nice when restored. I think this has the 12a rotory engine. Not too sure though.

I've been surprised to see a number of these driving around, especially in the cold weather lately.

He had better find a really good body shop -- one that maybe has a magician :D

Is this car already such a classic it deserves a "spotted" thread?

No, there's still a hell of a lot of them around. A coworker has one he daily drives :dunno: (and asides from one fender that he needs to paint again, it's in a lot better condition than that scrap in the OP)

these things seem to be reliable as hell, bodies are always roughed up but i always notice a couple chugging along especially in winter.

but did it really deserve a spotted thread? they are about as rare/cool as seeing a Lada Niva imo, for obvious reasons lol

Yaa not sure if this deserves a spotted thread- however this is one of my favorite cars. I have owned 3 first gens and 1 second gen(convertible)- other than regualr oil changes I did nothing to any of them. Rotary engines get a bad rap- they are great cars.

All 4 of mine were in farrrr better condition and all less than a 100 000KM's.

:werd: WTF? They're (somewhat) iconic cars in the grand scheme of things, but really not worth a spotted thread, especially with such a rusty specimen in question.
:dunno:

I'd prefer to see a thread like this with a picture, then a thread that's exactly like the following:

OMG I JUST SAW A BLACK SL65 OMG, I DIDNT HAVE A CAMERA. OMG.

I like old school rx7's. Dece thread sir.
