Haha, that's Mobile Authority. I have no idea if they're any good but be sure t try the sub out. If it works, good. Better than no bass, right?

MA is junk. Only way to know about he coils is to test them with a multimeter.

No, they were always crap. Before they just went by the name "Mobile Authority". Then they became known for making shit so the changed it to MA audio... now its just the same sort of crap, abiet better looking then before.
It may be Blaupunkt you're thinking of. They made great stuff in the early 90's. Now? You couldn't pay me enough to put any Blaupunkt equipment in my car. :nut:

1000 watts? I'd say thats probably max. Im sure that sub is good for 300-400 RMS, and thats it.

How you test for the ohmage of each coil is to take a multimeter and put it to its lowest Ohmage setting. From there attach the leads to each of the two terminals of a given voicecoil.

If the readout on the multimeter reads 3.5-3.7ohms, then its in factuality a 4 ohm voicecoil(s).
If it reads 1.6-1.8 then its a 2ohm voicecoil(s).

The reason for that is, when you put power to the voicecoil and it starts to move, it creates inductance which increases the the resistance to a true 4ohms, or to a true 2 ohms. Thats why the coils offer a little bit less resistance then what they're supposed to, to take that into account.
