20 % of the years average snowfall comes in April. I likely won't change back until May.

Time to start work on the yard... I have a fence to paint, trim to paint, stucco to paint... need to form and pour new concrete steps... get the gardens going...

Ugh... and that's just the work at my place... the rental house has some needs too.

Here's to a LONG & warm spring/summer/fall... I need it!

To show off to other douchebag drivers. Why else?

Sometimes unforeseeable situations happen. Like when I don't expect to be buying a truck, and realizing that I actually love driving the truck as my daily driver, or when I'm constantly back & forth between Edmonton for business. Plus, if I ever get into an accident, I'll always win; except against a semi.

Put on your wheels/tires now. Any snow you’re going to get won’t stay on the ground. It will snow into May but major roads will dry up right away. On the off chance we get some deposit that takes a couple of days to melt just take the bus or something. If you have a lot of driving to up to the mountains or on back roads, keep the winters on.

Meh. I do remember last year's mid April snow storm, cause I had to go somewhere that morning (it was a Saturday). I had my summers on already, but was like WTF and went about my ways. Just had to take it slower than usual, but then again, I was in my Legacy. Traction wasn't a big issue but stopping.. well, just make sure you leave plenty of room. And by the time I was ready to go home (just past noon), pretty much all the snow had already melted on major roads. So I would say, snow is a non-issue in April (everything just melts really fast).

Gravel.. Well, maybe it's just me, but seriously, getting gravel on my rims is the LEAST of my worries. Bumper/hood/windshield is a much bigger target.

I said "fuckit" and put my summers on this past weekend. At the same time, my winters blew out on the sidewall, so I didn't have much of a choice.

who care if we get snow in May. If it’s dry all March and April, you’re going to keep the winters on for the one day in May that we’ll get snow? Look how nice it is outside now. Put the summers on and if it snows bad take the transit for one day until the snow melts.

Haha your problem for going on the QEII that day LOL. Like I said, I went somewhere that morning within the city. It was crap, I agree. But by noon, pretty much all the roads were mostly wet bare pavement, with slush here and there.

I can't say enough good things about Bearspaw Insurance (ING). I asked for my MR2 to be reinstated for next Monday this morning, and in exactly 2 hours, I had PDF scans of the pink slips in my inbox. I've been with them now for 3+ years. Have had 1 accident (and in BC too), and ING dealt with it so quickly and perfectly (my car was in the repair shop the next day and I was in a rental), I couldn't have asked for any better. Also, my premiums were lower than TD (but not by much, something like $150/year, but on 3 cars, that adds up). This is a WORLD of a difference compared to the high prices and crappy service I was getting at State Farm.

Hahaha so off topic.

Screw it. Just put them on. If it snows, just find second means of transport for the day and the next day the snow will melt. Or run all season rubber on your summer wheels, if you're anal about the odd springtime snowfall or summer hail/rain storm.

It's considered a "cheater" tire like the RT615.

Most track events last year ended up putting them in the modified class due to the grip they put out.

And they're just fine when it's cold out. Obviously, I don't go bombing into corners, heel-and-toeing three gear downshifts and toss it into a bend at 100 km/h, but for city driving, they're just fine. No cracks, no issues whatsoever.

And for real tires, I have my Hancook Z211s waiting... those should be a LOT of fun.

They aren't Rs they are used in the stock class of Solo and Redline where you can't run Rs.

I am running the Nitto NT05 "cheater" which is supossidly the closest to an R and I would not even think about comparing them to NT01s or any other R.

Don't get me wrong the Star spec is a great tire, but it is no way an R compound.
