Would be great to see.

Ford is really showing some promise among the Detroit 3.

Good, this is probably the only Ford i would ever consider buying. Plus for 2011 that mean i can pick one up a year or two after they go on sale...

Awesome.. we need this.

I'd buy one! (but only if it costs less than an STi or EVO)

That would be sweet as I've seen some reviews and the car supposedly handles great for a fwd.

RS is a fine car but how many are willing to fork out $40-$50K for this name plate?

BTW, RS starts @ $39000 Euros

No AWD = no care.

Also, the price is way to high.

Have you ever seen what new cars in Europe cost?

Good looking car as said but if it's in the 40-45k price range I think most people would opt for an STi or an EVo or even a 370Z

Yes but it's a different market. STI's and EVO's all cost much more there than NA. Ford knows the NA market enough to know that nobody will spend over $40K for a FWD hatchback.

i wonder if you could turn around Ford NA by deleting it's entire current line up and just copying over the European one.

But the RS would cost around 40K Canadian.

I really love the RS, but would I buy one over a STI or Evo? probably not.

You can buy a Camaro SS for 46k...

In Germany, the STi is 44,490Eu and the Focus RS is 33,900Eu. That means the Focus RS is 24% cheaper there... that's a pretty significant difference.

If they bring over the Focus RS I will buy one. No question.

I love this car

Poor example;

A. It's a Volvo
B. Have you ever seen the C30 up close? It's a hatchback with no room in the hatch. Worst hatchback design that I've ever seen.
C. GTI's and MS3's sell for over $30K and some people actually paid $30K for Civic Si's. None of those cars have the performance potential of the RS.

How is a company like Toyota any better?

it'll probably be around 40k canadian. I'd would never even consider this car when i can get an AWD evo or sti for the same price. If they priced it a decent amount below the STI/evo I may be able to forgive the lack of AWD

Ford probably has the best line up of the Big 3, and thats coming from a GM guy.

Fiesta, F150, Taurus, Fusion.

Focus isnt quite there, but it will get better. It is really tough to make a great small car. Honda dumps a boat load of money into the civic, and American Car manufacturers havent quite gotten then.

I will admit that 'Not quite' is not good enough.

You don't hear as much about Ford as the others as far as how bad eveyone is doing right now. I think Ford hit their crisis a year or two earlier than the others and got the message a little sooner too.

The RS would really help their image in the domestic market even if it is a little over priced. To have a domestic alternative for a high performance compact car can only help them. Besides, the SVT Focus is a great little car, I can only assume the RS would blow it away.

If he's talking about Canada, he's right:

Ford 17,021

Acura 1,211
Honda 11,359

Lexus 1,363
Toyota 14,538

Edit: shit, he said feb. I'm looking at March #'s. :dunno:

I would get one if it's under $40k. More and it's too pricey.

^^ if its GTI and speed3 range then yes it would be worth considering, but if it's high 30s -40 I'd spend a little extra and get an evo/sti

If it remained FWD I doubt Ford would price it over $40K. $38K max for a fully optioned car would have to be the absolute max.
