Ok, so, I'm trying to look into what to get for my first niiiiiice car. Don't know much, but I'm learning. If you could choose, which one would you want and why? Or do you have any other suggestions for a new coupe?

If your intention is to mod it, I would suggest buying a cheap-ish RSX close to coming off of warranty...

Rsx has around around 140 HP ... which is the equivalent Ibelieve of a Mazda 3
What is the type S ... 170 ? Can anyone confirm or correct ?

i'd go with the type-s if the price was right, but if you have more dough, i'd definitely look into a used s2000 for a few more g's.

but if your young, i'm assuming you are, insurance will rape you.
