Hey everyone, new to the site, was suggested by the toyota dealership I called to come here and ask around for someone to do an engine transplant for my MR2.

I have a 91 NA 2.2 Non turbo left hand drive MR2. Ive recently come into buying a JDM Left hand drive 92 MR2. My 91 is an automatic transmission, and the 92 that i have is a standard. I want to know who anyone here would recommend I call in Calgary for gettin the 92 jdm engine swapped into my 91.

In exchange Id be willing to give the shop my 91 2.2L engine with transmission as well as the body from the 92 as partial payment. However the jdm one is missing the front bumper, and mounts with the right side front panel is crushed. Car was in an accident but the title on it is clear. A Body man has told me that the car is savageable and the front end could be repaired.

Their is a couple reputable shops that could do this for you but i doubt any of them will take the engine/tranny or the car as payment Shops want money to pay their employees.. I have heard good things about the guys from Project Omega in Edmonton..:dunno:

OMG you found a JDM LHD MR2??!

You'de be better off parting the jdm car to get cash to pay the mechanic. No ones going to do a motor swap for a damaged vehicle that has no engine.

pm primerdrift, he did my swap

From what I see, you'd need basically the whole car of the turbo one, transplanted into the n/a body.

You're probably looking at around $2000 for the work, plus removal of the wrecked shell once it's stripped.

I'm thinking that's swapping over the suspension, brakes and shift linkage to get the manual tranny to function in the new car. Possibly a fuel pump swap too, I think you need that changed if you're going to up the boost later.

FYI: Fuel pump change is a major job on these cars (around a 3-4hr job)

mr2_mike did both my engine swaps for $150 and a case of red bull.
