Rip Off Alert - Martin Gausvik @ AFI Performance - Edmonton

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a heads up for any locals looking to get some tuning / engine work done on your car/truck. Exercise EXTREME caution or completely avoid dealing with

Martin Gausvik @ AFI Performance in Edmonton.

Martin promised me 800 WHP in my Escalade. I gave him a cheque for $20,000 and my Suburban. He was to order a 3.3L Whipple supercharger, an FLT Stage 5 4L80E, all parts required to stroke the trucks 6.2L to 418 cubic inches. Wheels, Tires, Suspension. etc. All this work was to be completed by September 2008.

What do I have to show for our plans? A beat up suburban, which he returned after driving it for 6 months and a $20,000 lighter bank account. He ordered NONE of the parts and when I asked for my money back he says, "I might take me a little while to come up with that kind of money".

I have a lawyer involved. I'd be happy to pay an additional 20K in fees to wipe this dude out.

There's your problem. Unless giving him the truck was part of the deal... while he worked on your Escalade.

Otherwise.. thanks for the heads up. Who the fuck does he think he is?

he fucked me over too when i gave him my prelude to do a build on. finished product was a half assed tuned car, him putting a huge dent in my quarter panel, leaving my built engine sitting on a shop floor for around a year before install, and him owing me around 2 grand. the shop is a joke. He seems like a nice guy, but he really is a POS.

HOLY SH*T! This is VERY bad and it is people like this that can give an entire industry a poor reputation!

I hope your lawyer is able to recover your money ASAP!

Good luck :guns:

Wow you've got some coin to have a 996 and be willing to blow $20k towards a 800RWHP set up on your escalade.

He is just stating a fact. Why does he need to link it with anything? It's his opinion..
