Guy did the whole thing himself, in about 12 hours, with a Sharpie paint pen. No preconception, just drew it on the spot, whatever came to him.

Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Wow, 12 hours to do the hood and trunk. He should definitely do the rest up! Looks really neat though.

The pretty pictures probably distracted you from reading the very first line of the very first post in the thread. ;)

First off... I'm going to bet 50% of people are going to hate this .. but i'm ok with that. I did take "inspiration" from the "sharpie lamborghini" (props to him, this took me about 12 hours)

So, no.

Much like the Gallardo that was done. Very cool! Thanks to ricers, I find this cooler than carbon fibre. ALthough I know when to appreciate Carbon Fibre when appropriately applied and used.

wouldn't the sharpie change color and have a purple-ish tint to it after being in the sun for awhile?

none the less, very impressive

Would be cool just to have the roof done sharpy style.

That Lambo is wicked. Must have taken ages to draw all of that. So much detail in the work. :nut:

Would they clear coat over the sharpie....I know they are using the paint market but I still think sharpie would come off fairly easy without a good strong coat of clear on top

You have to use the Sharpie Oil Based Paint Markers. They are resiliant to weather.

However, I have tested regular sharpies with automotive urethane based clear coat and had poor results. So I am going to try these sharpies out, and see how they mix with my dupont chroma clear. Hopefully there is no reaction.

BTW that lamborghini, it had a clear vinyl applied, and sharpie drawn ON the vinyl. Then sealed with a shitty sealer.

Update

Just saw an update on bimmerforums this morning of this car. Unfortunately some douchebags decided to try and break into the trunk and in the process put multiple holes in the trunk and the accompanying trunklid sharpie design. Sad to see such an unfortunate thing happen to an original work.
