An elderly woman pried loose after her car became wedged on its side between two others yesterday was shaken but unhurt.
But standing at the carved wooden door of her large North York bungalow last night, Basia Jesin said she didn't want to talk about what happened at the Bathurst Manor Plaza parking lot near her home.
"It was an accident," the senior said. "It's nothing to be proud of."
Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free Jesin, 83, after the "surprising" parking mishap around 11:15 a.m. in the mall near Dufferin St. and Finch Ave., about eight blocks west of her home.
With her car standing sideways on the driver's door, Jesin's rescue took around 30 minutes. She was wheeled away on a stretcher by paramedics, but didn't require hospital care.
"It was surprising to find the vehicle positioned like that," Toronto Fire Capt. Adrian Ratushniak said. "It was a tight fit."
Toronto Police said the senior's car damaged three other vehicles. No charges will be laid, since the mishap occurred on private property, police said.
