1992 Toyota Tercel in perfect condition... That is if you consider a car without a working engine to be perfect for your current circumstances. Sold to me by my roommate 3 months ago for $2500 who swore it was good to go. Paid it off 2 Fridays ago and the engine went the very next day (rod). I am told that this coincidence of timing is hilarious, but cannot currently see the humour in my situation.
This would make a perfect car for you if you can supply a replacement engine (1.5L i4 used in Tercels years 88-95). The body has had a recent bright red professional paint job and has little-to-no rust or damage - it shines up real nice.
I have documented proof of recent work done: replaced water pump, timing belt, and clutch ($1800 of work). The transmission is a manual 5 speed and works perfectly (when the engine also works). Brakes were recently done also. The current engine leaks nothing. All features of the car (wipers, radio, etc.) work properly.
The interior is very clean and in near-mint condition.
This would make an excellent parts car. To back this up, I had a shop do an inspection on the car and therefore have documented proof that this car is mechanically near-mint condition other than the engine and a few marker lights / cracks in the windshield.
Long story short, buy this car for cheap, put an engine in it, and the resulting product is pure awesomeness that you will have years of enjoyment driving around in.
** Please note that for obvious reasons there will be no test drives, unless you enjoy pushing 1500 lbs of steel on wheels around by yourself...
