Phottix and Targus make some grips for the D40/60, they seem decent but I believe they will void your warranty should something bad happen (not sure how Nikon would ever know, though). It will just about double the size of the camera haha.

i remember trying out my friends D200 with the grip and it felt perfect, when i held it without the grip it just felt like it was too small or something was missing lol.

Fair enough. It won't feel as good as the D200 + Grip (or as big) but it will definitely make the camera feel larger if that's what you're after.

Well the camera itself sort of has that feel, that's all I am getting at. The D200's body is much heavier and made of magnesium, where the D40 is just a metal frame covered in high quality plastic. A grip won't magically make your D40 feel higher quality, it will just increase the physical size of it (and batter life of course)

The grip will also add weight, which will help offset your lenses.

I got one back when I shot with a rebel xt, and it improved the handling so much. Wont weigh or feel as sturdy as a D200 + Grip, but it will improve the way it feels for you.
