Hey Beyond.ca Members!

I'm returning my 2005 Nissan Xterra in July 2009 and I want to minimize the cost of repairs as much as possible when I return it.

I brought it down to Brasso Nissan today for Chelsea (lease coordinator) to inspect. She said everything is in excellent condition inside and out minus the rock chips on the front part of the hood and the long scratch on the passenger side (almost front to back...damn those people that key other peoples cars!).

She said the scratch doesn't look like it's reached the paint yet, but it's definitely through the clear coat in some areas.

I've included photos here: *sorry didn't have my macro lens with me, just my 50mm*

She said Nissan is pretty flexible with their return policy, but said that I'll probably be charged anywhere between $200-250 for them to fix it.

Anyways I'd like your opinion and suggestions on how or if this can be fixed somewhere else, for a reasonable price.

Thanks in advance!

I've also contacted mobilereflections.ca but haven't gotten a reply back from them yet.

$200-$250 sounds very reasonable, I doubt it would cost less than that at other places.

I would just leave it to Nissan if that was what it'd cost.

I agree, leave it to them - that looks like it'd take some good wetsanding and polishing to get out (i.e., time, lots of time)

Thanks for the reply everyone! I'm going to take it to a bodyshop as suggested by Jed (MobileReflections.ca) and have it looked it. If the cost to repair is more than what Nissan quoted then I'll leave it at that.

Thanks Again!
