Planning to buy some M3 wheels from another beyonder, but I've read that the offset of the M3 wheels won't fit my 328i?

Anybody know more about this?
My BMW is a 1999 328i, E46.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Only the fronts will fit properly. The rears are too wide.
If you really wanted to, you could find four fronts and put them on your car.

keep checking www.e46fanatics.com, I sometimes see guys selling 4 m3 fronts, or you could just get some good knock off's

Yeah I've tried looking but no luck.
Anyways, if the rears are too wide what will happen?
Will the tires just stick out or is there a major problem?
Is there a way to make the rears fit?

Probably, but not properly. You try adjusting the camber so they wont rub or stick out? ( it would look like / \ )

It isn't that the rears are too wide. It is that the offset is all wrong.

They will stick out past the fender. It is more than just "rub."

Some M3 wheels are ET22. Regular E46s can only take ET40 at the most in the rear.

Unless you plan on doing a wide fender kit in the rear, there is no way they will fit. Just look at the rear of an M3 and the rear of your car and you will see why.

Does the rear fender of your car look like this:

Can he not also get the rear fenders rolled?

Even with rolled fenders, a 19 * 9.5 wheel with a ET30 offset will rub like crazy! You have to get them pulled a huge amount. And that amount will likely damage the paint.

I've already answered these questions for this kid when i had my Style 44's for sale.

Everything Benyl says is correct.

As far as I know, there is ONLY one way to fit M3 rears on a non-M E46....that is to turn the M3 rears with a lathe. There is a guy on E46fanatics that has actually done this, but it is $$$$$. So unless you have $$$$, there is NO WAY M3 rears will fit on your car without having to spend any money. Your budget of $600 for OEM wheels and rubber is not going to be anywhere near enough.

I can tell you now dude, your rear does not look like the picture Benyl has posted. You need to stick with NON-M E46 rims ONLY.
