Am looking for a quad core with a lot of RAM. I'm about to buy a $799 HP.

Do you know of any other desktop with similar / more powerful features for a similar price ?

Don't buy that. Get something with an Intel Quad Core instead.

I recommend going to Memory Express for a computer, by the way. They can help you custom-build one that fits your needs exactly.

I know the issue has already been figured out.

But everytime one of these threads pops up (help me pick a computer type threads), the computer guys on here always offer the same solution. Avoid Dell, HP, Acer, Gateway, MDG, etc. Go to memory express, custom build to tailor to your needs for less money/better product.

Not living in a city that has a decent computer store like memory express?

Web orders are the way to go.
