That, and the bright Calgary sunlight blinding him while driving...
At least ONE of those we can easily prevent.

The Maserati Gran Turismo is beautiful, but I'm not really digging the design of the stock rims, they look really retro 80's.

I shall have to get a pic of the 3200GT when the owner on my street pulls it out of the garage. Come to think of it theres also a Bentley, two 911 Turbos, a Merkur XR4Ti, and a Boxster hdidng somewhere down the street...

I honestly see these cars everyday here in the GTA. They are still rare, but they are definitely hella more common here than the 403. Lots of them on the lakeshore of Lake Ontario here.

Lack of a dealership and service facilities really limited sales of the early Maserati coupes and spyders in Calgary.

It's one thing to put up with a shitty car because it's unique, but quite another when you also have to ship it 1000km for service work.

there's one in Calgary. They are like S class benz's in Vancouver here, pretty common.

As stated by others, there is an official dealer right here in Calgary.

The cars are far from "shitty". Even early [modern] Maseratis are genuinely awesome!

You don't see many on the road because they were/are produced at a fraction of the volume of other cars. Even compared to other hand built exotic cars, production volume is low.

The Gran Turismo and Quattroporte are gorgeous, Our resident goon Dion Phaneuf has a red GT.

All other modern Maserati (>1970) never really appealed to me.

Thanks to everyone that pointed out that there is a Ferrari/Maserati dealer here - I am well aware.

What I meant was that there was no dealer here when these cars were being sold new. No visible sales presence and no service facilities means very few people are willing to buy.

Travis - I know you have one and perhaps my term 'shitty' was a little strong. I hope you are enjoying. The only variation of that style that I enjoyed was a Gran Sport Coupe (cambio)... though I still thought it was a little unrefined and slow compared to similarly priced competitors. What a glorious sound though!

I don't think it was ever a matter of "very few people [were] willing to buy". In truth, very few of these cars were produced. Production volume was always very low; even for hand built Italian cars. Most Japanese/German/US car manufacturers pump out more cars in a couple of months than Maserati has put out from 2002-present.
