re-sale is so shitty on caddy's, a buddy of mine bought a used late model sts for like $9000.00, i think a caddy is a bad idea man.

Grandfather had an old caddy from the 80's it was a piece o' shit and my aunt has a Cadillac Catera, nice car but had tranny issues in the cold. The CTS may be a different story.

270hp 6speed nav system = like $44000.00 and it'll hold it's value better the a domestic

i guess if your just leasing it and going to give it back then thats not to bad, because if you have any probs just take it back.

POS from our families only experience. We were test driving a new sts (automatic) and it stalled. They phoned us back the next day and said it was fixed, so my mom went back to try it out again, and it stalled :thumbsdow

thats what warrenties are for

True, but I would never buy a car that kept stalling on me even after they 'fix' it, no matter how good the warranty is. However you are leasing it right?? This was a couple years ago and it's a different car, hopefully your experience is better than ours was.

yeah i dunno, i think the new model caddys are a lil better, i mean the escalade and cts seem to hold there value from what i have seen, and as ar as i know its a pretty good car, but thanks for the info

true, they do seem to hold their value. Take a few years before the major depreciation hits. I've read a few reviews...most are picky about the styling and the plastic interior, but say the car is still a decent handler.

but jordan ,an escalade is just a dressed up chevy truck so it'll drop just as fast in value. i almost picked up a denali i was looking at a 2 year old one for $35000.00 and a new one was $69000.00 i think no matter which way you look at it your going to take a hard hit because it's a domestic.

here's a used one in alberta.
used cts (http://www.canadatrader.com/trader/result/affich.asp?rubno=4000&r=%27ALB%27%2C%27EDM%27%2C%27CAL%27&ste=&sid=&issr=1&yfr=0&yto=0&kfr=0&kto=0&pfr=0&pto=0&dm=1&dp=4&mk=CADILLAC&md=CTS&kw=&rc=&or=0&oby=7&pg=1&vid=972678)

new ones start a like 40 all the way up to 54

Just think of it along the lines of the residual.....I honestly don't think a 7 series BMW can cover its residual at the end of 4 years! SAme thing goes for Mercedes, CAdillac, etc.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall! BUt your a high roller so this shouldn't be a problem :D

haha, hey i tryed to talk her out of it, but she needs a car now, and doenst like anyting else....like i said if it suks ill give it back when the lease is up....ill put down like 1000 bucks, so i dont take it that hard in 4 years

I worked at a caddy dealership. And the old caddy's have no-resale value. But the new CTS, Escalade ext, xlr... all these new cadillac's are amazing, even the manual trans. on the cts is pretty fun. It is a great buy, and you'll have little to no promblems with it

I used to drive an Escalade as a weekend car. Not all that impressive if you ask me. For a car that big, it doesn't have all that much room. Gas is a bitch...12mpg in the city if you're lucky. I love the CTS in terms of looks. Unless you need an SUV, go for the CTS.

I test drove a CTs about a month ago...handled like a gradma car...was slow...but had a pretty nice interior. For the price of it I would look at something else. just my 2cents.

My uncle owns a diamond pearl (creamy white) 01 Seville SLS. It's the less sporty version and cost slightly less than the STS. Still it's plenty luxurious and powerful with a very smooth, quiet ride.. almost too quiet. The 4.6L V8 Northstar pulls pretty good, almost 300hp and equal torque ratings. The tranny shifts nice as well. He mentioned having some problems with it but they were resolved by the dealer, mostly fit and finish issues. I've driven it several times but it's not my kind of car. Maybe when I hit 50 I might think differently... you should be able to get an incredible deal on Caddy's nowadays with all the GM rebate and incentive programs they're offering.
