Hi Beyond,

I am sorry but I have no clue on how to shop for rims on my vehicle.

as the title says, my car is 205/55/16

is it possible for me to fit 205/40/17 and 235/45/17 on it?
bolt pattern fits. The 235 rears is what I am worried about

I went on tire rack and saw that they were selling 225 so whats another 10 to 235?

what about staggered sizes, will that make a difference? Will I get rim steer? I drive a 2009 Toyota Corolla S

Thank you very much

Youll most likely be fine man, depending on what the offsets of the rims are. Are they on a FWD right now? or are they brand new?

well they are coming off a 2005 Dodge SX 2.0 so that would be FWD right? My car is FWD.

the 235 in the back threw me for a loop. It seems quite wide.

thanks so much for your help bud

i just took a look off the ADR website and:

A997710H40GM 17x7 5x100/114.3 40 Gun Metallic

so I am assuming that means offset of 40 right?

i think youll be ok.

ok so here is what i know

it is coming off the dodge that i spoke about above
SX 2.0 2003-2005 5x100 12x1.50 3/4” 57.1 +40

given that the guy put the rims on his SX 2.0 and they fit fine, one would think that the offset should be fair for my vehicle.

and my offset is +39 so i don't forsee any problems with that one.

thanks for all your help

The 205/40R17 is really far to small and the 235/45R17 is a bit too big. Will they fit on the car without interference? Probably not to much of an issue there, but the handling and drivability is probably going to be a bit whacky. The fronts will probably have too low a load carrying capacity for your car as well. If I were you I would buy a new set of lesser expensive 225/45R17's all the way around or try and find a good, cheap set of used in the proper size...
