Hey all, new to the VW world and looking to get a bit more performance out of an 05 GLI. Car is currently bone stock.

Researching some performance chip's as a first step and have a couple questions. Concept-1 has the APR chip which allows switching between a couple of different programs depending on the octane level you want to run. Guy I've been chatting with there has been very helpful. Was also checking out Calgary Autoworks after they came up on a google search. I know nothing about the shop, only website info. They are retailing a "Revo" chip. They also have a number of tuning packages on their website for varying prices.

Anyone have any first hand knowledge/experience with either chip/shop?

Also, what would be your next logical step after the chip? Say you have roughly $3k to play with (give or take).

Thanks in advance.

Someone had the exact same question as you on Eurodrivers. Lots of good advice posted here:

Most people say the following mods are key:
- 3" Turboback exhaust (downpipe + exhaust)
- intake
- Samco turbo inlet hose (people noticed a big difference after installing this)
- APR chip
- FMIC

I'd definitely read that thread, alot of 1.8T owners posted their opinions.
