Question for a friend- what's the deal with 'D's? I know you can get a maximum of 4 D's in 4 half courses in total. but is a 'D' a fail or a pass? I always just assumed a C- was minimum to pass until I heard otherwise recently.

2 full credit i think, which makes it 4 half credit.

"A minimum of "C-" grade in the Junior English, Strategy and Global Management 591 and in each course permitted to fulfill the concentration requirements. A maximum of two full-course equivalents with "D" or "D+" grades in non-concentration and non-prerequisite courses."

Thats the graduation requirement from the calendar. If your friend got that D in a concentration course, good as an F since he's gonna have to retake it. If its a non-conc/non-prereq, hes ok as long as hes still under the maximum (4 courses with D or D+)

When in doubt check the calendar, but I think it depends on your faculty and to a lesser extent your course. Anyways I know this is entirely unhelpful but just don't get D's and you don't have to worry about things like this.

D is a pass, but if the class is a prereq for another course, you need to redo it with a min of C-

Maybe the guy had some fucked up circumstances. Maybe he was working 40 hours a week while taking 5+ classes. Or maybe his old lady left him and he was depressed not doing fuck all. Stop being so judgemental ya homo.

But i do agree, if you get more then a single D you should switch your major to education or something. lol...
