What car should I buy?

I'm looking into buying a new car for the summer when I start work but I really dont know what to buy. I have an 02 alero that Ive put rims and a body kit on but I am selling it to buy something else, preferably something new.

All Ive ever owned or have been around is domestic and havent had good experiences so I would like an import. Im aiming towards a honda civic, an SI if I can get one, year 06+. Anyone else want to give me some input?

It would help a lot if we knew what you were looking for in a car. What would it be used for, commuting, street/track or track. Did you need to flexability of a 4 door, or would you perfer a sportier 2 door. Is power important? Reliability?

Given your budget, I'd say maybe look at a mazda 3, you can get a pretty good deal on them at the moment, the gt model has good power for daily use and it has room, plus I think they look pretty good, well not the brand new ones.
A newer Si is probably going to be out of your price range, unless you can find a really cheap one.
