Any suggestions on where to go? What should I try? I am not too too adventurous...

This may sound stupid, but the wifey and I's favourite Korean joint is Kim Chi House. It's located in the food court across from Dragon City in Chinatown; same building as ThaiTai.

It's on the other side of 17th by Greco's Pizza + Lounge. Beside that point, +1  No self BBQ though.

If you're looking to try the BBQ, go to Seoul BBQ on Mcleod Trail. You get to BBQ you're own stuff.

THANKS!

MY ROOM MATE IS KOREAN AND SHE HELPED ME A LOT WITH THE MOVE TO CALGARY SO I WANTED TO TREAT HER OUT TO SURPRISE DINNER. HOPEFULLY SHE DOESN'T READ ABOUT THIS... AS THIS IS HER ID TOO,LOL. WE LIVE IN NW/NE BORDER(I THINK) IS THAT RESTAURANT NEAR BY US?

IMO theres 2 sides to korean food really, the BBQ that everyone knows (and sometimes thinks what korean food is all about), then theres the vegetarian side, the mint leaves in chili sauce, soyabeans in chili sauce, daikon in chili sauce etc honestly i can survive off kimchi and hot rice till i die but i'm not a fan of korean veggie dishes. :dunno: with that said OP, you not being that adventurous i say stick to the BBQ.
