Never heard anything about it after the contest closed.

EDIT - Found it on Google, apparently it was some dude with cancer problems from a town in the North West Territories that has a single 12 kilometre road.....WTF?

Probably worked out great for the lotto. Give cash prize then auction off car for near the same amount or more. I imagine serious collectors would jump at a chance for a road legal CCX

not too many people would take the car over the cash, you have to be able to maintain the car in order to take it

Dude!
Take the car,

There won't be another one of those in Canada without some serious string-pulling. It would have been a gamble, but likely could have sold it for more than MSRP.

The car was never intended to be accepted as a prize in the lottery, but rather to gauge 'real buyer' interest in a potential distributorship and provide publicity for the lottery.

Only one of those worked...

I thought people might be interested in the continuing story on this as I've been researching it every year or so to see where it is. The car was sold to a buyer in the USA that requested it be sent back to Koenigsegg to be converted from a CCX to a CCX-R. He got the car back, drove it and then I believe it was resold once or twice after that. If you've seen the bonus footage at the end of one of the later Fast And Furious movies, that's the same car. When I saw it in the movie I figured there was a good chance since I believe there are only around 20-30 in the world and it turns out it is the same one.

Totally worth the 12 year wait.

When do you finally get your hands on it?
