Just want to check the engine. How much do they roughly cost...

about an hour labour or so depanding on the engine, on a boxer engine it might be a little more depanding on how hard it is to get at the plugs.

There is not to many places other then the dealer that have the testers.

any other places besides the dealership? i should get a leak down test done too. i don't want to take my car to the dealership.

all i have is a crappy do-it-yourself compression tester. fuji. you intrested?

a leak down tester is about a $1000 so not too many places other then dealers will spend then money on a tool that gets used so little.

you could phone around and find out if they have a tester

I bought a leak down tester for around $60 from NAPA (the one on 16ave) ;) Its not $1000.

The only thing is that you need is a supply of shop air though....

that is good to know, i was told that by a friend so i guess that i should watch what i repeat...:thumbsup:
