View Full Version : Something That Looked Like A S7?

My and my friend was walking down 17th from our school, and my back was turned when he said, “ OHHH!!SHIT!” I look over and all I see is a big ass cement truck. I was like what? He said wait wait..and in the far distance I see little yellow car and the rear looked very familiar to the Saleen S7.

Some yellow car that looked a lot like the S7 turned onto 4th St from 17th (I only saw the rear of the car). I have no idea what it was, but it was defiantly a exotic car or something. Does anyone know about this car? It can't be a Saleen though...the chances are very very slim...:dunno::dunno:

I didn't see the car properly since it was really far but it did resemble this....

There was a yellow car that was at world of wheels.. he drives up and down 17th alot.. he has this unique car that looks like none other... It says Mirage on the side.

Could it have been him??

Could it be a Lotus Esprit? Several times, when going to or back from SAIT I saw a yellow Lotus Esprit... Maybe it could be what you're describing, it's yellow, low to the ground and fast!

My guess is a kit car, but if you see it again try to get a pic, I'll keep my eyes open too, I'm pretty interested in the mystery car now.

Hey, are you sure it wasn't a Honda Civic.. thats a pretty rare car... You can never tell these days with all those crazy mufflers, and spoilers...

But on a more serious note, I am pretty sure it was a Ferrarri, I see a Yellow one all the time down on 17th ave.. actually everytime I do see it, it is at the corner of 17th ave and 4th st...
Hmmmm coincidence?? I don't think so... :D

The 'mirage' is a kit car or supercar from the 70's I think, I'll find a pic, I think there was another thread on it on here already.

Might have gone by another name I think though, not mirage, although it does say Mirage on it.

Edit - Actually I think Mirage is the company that makes the kit car and the car was a speedster or something????

Thinking about it is confusing me, driving me nuts, somebody must know.

heres what you saw...

Mirage S
The Mirage S body kit is designed to fit a Fiero donor car, or a custom tubular chassis of your choice.

The most economical way to build this car is using the Fiero donor platform. As in any kit of this car, modifications to the Fiero must be done prior to mounting the body. Since the Fiero has a stock wheelbase of 93.5" and the Mirage S's wheelbase is 98.5" the Fiero must be lengthened 5" in a simple procedure that is shown to you on one of our three videos.

Mirage K
Our Mirage K bodies are constructed of the highest quality fiberglass, in black gelcoat, and steel reinforcement, laminated in the body.

With our system of teaching our customers, through video, your doors can be air tight, and water tight!.

hahah...mini countach

that thing is so ugly

/////AMG

Nope wasn't a kit car fo the Countach, I love the countach would have recognized it if it was a Countach.

Those rear pics of that car you posted look more like a Detomaso Pantera than a countach IMO. BTW I'm talking about the rear.

That car with "MIRAGE" on the side frequents the SAIT area, but I haven't been able to find out what it is.

It could have been the back of a ferrari 360. dual round tail-lights and similar vents to the S7, and there are a couple at least in town.

Hey guys,
That car that says Mirage on the side is made by a company called Manta. A friends father had one that never ran, it was a sweet looking vehicle.

That's it!!!!!!!! Thank you, I spent like 20 minutes looking, I even looked for Manta Mirage and found something that looked like a mustang.

It's like 30 years old or so isn't it?

Yes djdante!! I ahve also seen that car around (although yellow) and i as so confused as to what it was. It's so tiny, the picture doesn't do it justice.

T think thats it, its as close as I can remember. But it kinda hard to tell since this one is red. Oh well I don't want it to bug me no more so I'm gonna say this is it, its looks basically the same, but I think the rear lights were different, naaa it was probably this Manta.

Found a rear shot:

He is always driving up and down 4th street, although i dought it in the winter. Last summer we even got to pull up next to it in my friends Jetta. Man did that thing Hummmm she was sooo purdy...
