So then windows can forget your settings every few days and the keys don't match up in any other OS's or in BIOS

This doesn't work so well on many keyboards anymore as the keys are typically rounded a certain way based on their position on the keyboard.

Just curious, why do you want a dvorak keyboard?

dvorak keyboards are actually optimized for typing, so the most used keys will be in optimal locations.

qwerty was invented to not messup the way the typewriters used to work but managed to stick around.

Yeapo

QWERTY was introduced to slow down typing speed because you would type too fast with DVORAK

Whoa... Drovak keyboards are messed up. I would like to test drive one of these bad boys and see how much I fuck up.

Not worth it to re-learn 15+ years of typing experience.

After 2 weeks on Dvorak I type the same speed on both. Coding on Dvorak is strange but normal typing is just as fast. I have yet to realize any speed gains from it, but everybody looks at me funny when I show up for a LAN party with a re-arranged old-school compaq keyboard :)

Good to know Dvorak keyboards are actually available.

If you're learning Dvorak then you're probably aiming to be a touch typist. Don't worry about rearranging the key caps and just use any old keyboard.
