Whats a good gym to join

My wife and I are both looking to join a gym in the N.E.
We have never joined a gym before, what do you guys recommend? Something not to overpriced.

Workout World is supposed to be cheap. It's in the industrial area so less beefcakes and time for you to use the machines. I used to see flyers all the time for $35/month - too bad I live far away...
