This is really good opportunity for a recent graduate in CS, Software Engineering, Mathematics or other related field. If you are/know anybody who would be interested in an iPhone development gig for 9 months, please get in touch with me. (see below)

No previous iPhone development experience is assumed, but if that is the case then you're going to have to educate yourself. A strong programming background is a prerequisite! This is a small startup (<5 employees) so you're expected to be very productive and get stuff done. The salary should be roughly commensurate with the market rate of a new graduate. (don't quote me on this) You'll be writing "serious" games targeted at the younger audience of children.

PM or e-mail me with a link to your resume. Access to a previous body of work is a bonus. If your resume checks out then I'll give you a call. If you can convince me that you know what you are doing then I'll wish you good luck and pass your resume along to my boss.

Please please please do not take it personally if you don't get an instant response/are not hired. I do not make the hiring decision and you are competing with other graduates for one position.

Do you have any info on the job itself?
Team / how things will be managed / what to do / etc.

Sorry, just returned from Edmonton.

Here's a vague and wholly unsatisfying job description: "This is your chance to develop innovative toys and games that will educate the world's children through entertainment. Not only will you help shape young minds, but you will be joining a young company where you can make an impact."

The team presently consists of the founder, his wife, an artist, and two full-time developers. We have also hired a lot of counsel/specialists/subject matter experts like professors, educators such as elementary school teachers, etc. I don't feel comfortable talking about speaking on behalf of my colleagues but I can talk a little bit about myself.

I'm a third year CS major studying at the U of C. Depending on how things go I may consider taking the next Fall and Winter off and delay my graduation by a year to work. I'm the least experienced member of the team but I make up for it with my good looks and sick sense of humor! :poosie:

All of us own Macbooks and we are just working on campus. (although renting an office or working remotely has been discussed) It's a pretty casual atmosphere and you'll get to wear many hats depending on what needs to be done on any given day. For example I wasn't hired for my excellent recruitment skills but here I am trying to get the word out. ;) Next weekend I attend an iPhone workshop (http://www.techvibes.com/blog/iphone-dev-school-in-calgary). (PM me if you're interested in attending and maybe we can get a bulk discount :nut: ) Next week who knows.... At the end of the day you've been hired to write code so make sure you can put out.

If you have any specific questions, you can post them here and I'll make sure they'll be addressed.
