I have a friend whos birthday is coming up. i thought it would be nice to get him a really nice designer pen. But I am not sure where to look.

I've been to Things Engraved and their selection are below par.

Anyone have any resources they might want to share.

Also, what is a good pen brand?

Thank you

go to reid's on 17ave. they have wide selection of pens.
a nice one could be a $200 mont blanc, it depends on your budget

hmm i think a box of them at staples is $5 why would you spend that kinda cash of a damn pen, ITS A PEN!

My store sells Mont Blanc, they start at around 300...

There is a store on the +15 level of 5th ave Place that sells "executive toys" and fancy pens. can't recall the name though.
Grand and Toy used to sell some more moderatley priced "fancy" pens if $300 is out of your range. More like $40 to $100 from what I recall. I'm a fan of Parker.

I do agree that Things Engraved is junk.

This coming from the guy with a "show civic" IS A CIVIC!

A nice pen has a way better feel when writing then a cheapo pen from staples.

yeah that's kinda old probably when i was 16
but really i can see maybe spending $10 for a better pen but $300 unless your a baller and have a lot of disposable income why?

You're better off getting him a hooker instead of a $300 dollar pen.

I ordered this one from melpens.com a few years ago.

Porsche Design is pretty good. Not too fancy but it works for me.

How about Cross? Used to make some decent pens from what I recall. They're nicer than your everyday Papermates, but not so pricey like the Mont Blancs.

lol...i lose my pens so fast that its pointless to buy anything more then a buck each... and its a pen, just buy him something else with that cash

Check out Lamy. THey are made in Germany and fantastic quality. Price should be $75 - $400 depending on what you get.

I have a Graf von Faber-Castell. I think it came from Brinkhaus.

+2 for Reids. Crazy pen selection in the back. Free parking in the back as well.
