Just wondering if anyone knows a good place to find used dirt bikes.

I have tried finding a dirt bike forum since I find there are the best deals on a specific forum for what ever you are looking for but I have been out of luck..

Also I am looking for a 125cc or 250cc bike..

I'd check out www.calgaryunderground.com

Its a Calgary based bike forum, with a fair share of dirtbike riders.

Sometimes some good deals come into TJ's cycle here in town, I'd call and ask.. otherwise www.buysell.com and the like have phenominal deals.

I have riden a friends Kawi 250 2 stroke that is MONSTERED!! ahah every one I know who I would say are very good riders say this bike is nuts.. I did how ever eat it super man style over the handle bars after being cocky with a couple drive by wheelies and such.. I think I could handle a stock 250.. but I was leaning more towards a 125 2 stroke or a 250 4 stroke just because I do like how the power band is smooth on the 4s.. rather then having it wound out with the 2 stroke. But from what I have read the 2 strokes are a lot easier to throw around all day being a fair bit lighter.. So as far as being experienced on a dirt bike (other than many days on the mini dirt bike ahaha) I dont have much time on a true dirt bike

I would be riding trails 98% of the time in the mountains and such (Invermere and Ghost forest area). Also I am 6 foot and 210LBS

I use to ride street (06 R6) before I decided to sell it to get my Evo this past X-mas, and I told the gf I was going to keep the Evo stock so I am going to get back on the bike and try out the dirt stuff.. So there for I had planned on putting about $3,000 into the Evo so thats kind of my budget.

get a 250 or 450 4 stroke man, you'll never look back or regret it.

You dont think a 450 4 stroke would be to much as a first bike?
I do like the idea of a 250 4 stroke.. just not sure if I would grow out of it to fast..

I Took a few years off from riding and my first bike after that was (and is) a CRF450R and man am i glad i went with it. If you're confident, a quick learner and have decent people to ride with that can help you progress your set with a 450 man. That said im like 6'4"-240lbs + so i have a little extra weight/strength to throw the thing around. But i know guys who are around your size that ride these things with ease.

You can never have too much power when your chewing through 3 feet of mud, or climbing steep ass shale covered hills.
