View Full Version : Looking for people with 18" on lightly lowered E36's

I'm considering a set of 18x8 or 18x8.5 rims, and would prefer not to use a stretched tire or roll my fenders. Offset is +35. Ride is lowered by about 1.5 inches. Any beyonders with that configuration? I'm looking for rub issues (even at full lock) front or rear, tire sizes, tire brand, photos are all appreciated.

Thanks!

I had 18" CSL reps on my M3 with stock suspension. If interested, I'll dig up the pics and specs.

If you don't mind. I'm not in a rush :)

I had a similar setup on my e36. It didn't rub at all.

Oh... on the homepage your thread only said "looking for people with 18" ".

The topic isn't what I expected, so I can't contribute... sorry.

Haha no worries. What I'm looking for is stuff like Funkadelic: I can't find any hard and fast numbers to say yes or no to these rims. Half the people seem to rub and roll their fenders, the other half don't. BF.c was useless.

I really want BBS Lemans 17", but the Linea Corse reps are way cheaper, still good build, come in the gold/polished lip combo i want, but the downside is they only have 18's.

you know, i forgot that i didn't go with a staggered setup, on my old e36 i went with 18x8.5 all around

CSL reps were 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear. I don't remember the offset figures.

Tires were 225 front and 255 rear. I was on the stock suspension at the time and fenders weren't rolled so there was no rubbing on the fenders. However, the left rear tire rubbed on the Supersprint muffler so I had to hammer the muffler to make a dent for clearance. The tires were definitely stretched, particularly in the back.

Wow, that's great. I'm rocking the stock muffler right now too, so I'll have to keep an eye out there. These rims I'm after are 8.5, not 9.5, so maybe an inch makes the difference.

I'm going to pop by KalTire next time I'm up in Nelson and see what they say. They're pretty good with this stuff too.

Even half an inch makes a huge difference. For the back, stick with 8.5 or 9.0 max and you'll be good.

Alright, I'm feeling confident now. I'm going to keep an eye on the dollar and my debt load, and hopefully get these rims before the summer's out :)

I'm working in Trail, BC, so I'm about 20 minutes from a shipping pick up in the US. Yay for no broker fees and free shipping!
