I was born and raised there, two years ago I moved closer to Calgary, I'll never move back.

Haha, it's got so bad you had to make a thread about it! You've got to find one of those local girls looking for the rich oil guys to take them back to big smoke.

is there anything to do in Lloyd at all? What is the population there, and what is the demographic like?

I was in Lloyd for 6 months last year. It's decent, not much to do but if you had friends then you can just hang out.

Almost everyone there works in oil one way or another.

Er...I'm forced to resurrect this thread in hopes that anybody still lives here.

I work for the newspaper or else I wouldn't have moved here, but I plan on being here for at least a couple years. That being said, I don't really fit in here. Everyone here is either weirder than I would like to be associated with, or they wear white sunglasses while driving around with one arm out the window of their lifted trucks.

Nice, at least I can cross Lloydminster off of my 'list of places I must visit'...

...hmmmm... nope, seems it never made the list. :dunno:

Lots of placed around Lloyd for fishing & golfing. The golf courses aren't anything amazing but they're cheap enough.

Seems pretty boring out there according to a few people I know who used to live there.

I head out that way a couple of times a month for work. Hunting and mud bogging are good around there too. Having said that, unless I was there working for big oil, I'd get the heck out of town.

GOLF! 1$ hole. !!

Forgot all about that. Thats all we did in lloyd for the summer was play golf. They have a pretty decent course in town there with a grass range and putting green too.

So what's there to do in Lloyd? I will be spending a lot of time up there in the fall for work. Golfing seems like a good way to pass time, but is there anything else to do once golfing season is over?

Uh...well, there's a crappy movie theater, a crappy mall and like someone else has said, a big park.

What're you going to be in town for?

Hmm well Lloyd just opened a Future Shop... and thats probably the most exciting thing that has happened in a little while . Im here on a 2 week on 1 week off rotation and yea there isnt too much to do... Luckily working as a wireline field engineer occupies alot of my time.
