I'm TOTALLY looking forward to this. My girlfriend HATED army of darkness and the evil dead movies because they were too cheesy, but she even wants to see this.

On the topic of Sam Raimi, there is a rare 35mm screening of Evil Dead at the plaza theatre in kensington on June 11th at 9:30PM, You will not want to miss this one if you are a fan.

I can't wait to go see this. I don't drag my ass to the theater that often since I'm more of a Globe and Uptown kind of guy but this one I think I will have to go see.

Sam Raimi? Sweet! I thought it looked good from the previews, now that I know he's involved I'm even more excited. Evil Dead And Evil Dead 2 are some of my favourite B rate horror movies ever. I even want to go see the Evil Dead musical that's playing at the theater this week.......by the way, anyone remember when this is on? Maybe I missed it.....

It was decent. A bit of a letdown as it wasn't scary at all and really no gore to speak of. It had some moments though but just not as good as the hype leading up to the film would have you believe.

It was ok. Fairly well done, but seemed to me to have rather stereotypical cheezy horror content.

Really you guys? The main actress' acting got worse as the movie went on. It had some good comedic moments, but anybody notice the scene where the mexican chick died and they went to close her eyes. She closed her eyes herself before their hands even got close, i lol in thye theatee for that one. I was actually pissed that I wasted $20 bucks to see that when I could have gone to see Star Trek.

If you have seen The Evil Dead 1 and 2. And Army of Darkness, Then you know what to expect.

This isnt a film to nit pick the acting and deffinetly not to be compared to Star Trek. Yes you should have seen Star Trek instead.

Yes cause comparing a comedic horror movie to an action flick is clearly the same thing.

I was actually hoping it was more Evil Dead 1 and less Army of Darkness myself (which wasn't the case unfortunately). IMO the movies got progressively worse after the first one. Not that they were bad but the first movie was classic.

Some fucking people. Yes, I can compare the two movies, when it's about which one I should have seen. I wasn't trying to be some artisitic douchebag and complaining the wrong tinted lenses were used in wrong scenes. Even though I am a fan of Evil Dead 1,2 and Army of Darkness doesn't mean I have to automatically like this movie.

A big  to those not realizing it's a SAM RAIMI film... you know... Evil Dead, Army of Darkness loves to make 'B' horror movies, Sam Raimi, it's not supposed to be serious.

I mean it has the Mac guy for gods sake, that should have been your clue from the start!

This movie is better than 90% of the horror movies out there, plus its a comedy to boot.

The people who give this movie bad reviews are the same ones that give 2012 a 9/10.

We should pitch to be official beyond.ca movie reviewers. Hahah
