^ I dunno, some of those cars (even 2gen) were notorious for crappyness.

It looks like a TSi model so it probably has a problem with the turbo or something in the heads.

called it's gone it was not running the turbo was missing the hood was wrecked the back seats were missing but was an AWD

Doesn't really sound legal either. If the guy giving it away doesn't have the registration, or proof of purchase, this could easily be trouble for the person who takes it.

Ya... the key here is it's a friends car that was being worked on. Odds are this friend didn't want to deal with it anymore and this guy is giving it away for free because he's tired of it. That's my guess... and I hope whoever took it doesn't find themselves in a legal battle soon.
