Got invited out by some old friends. Picked up a tripod the other day, so here's my first HDR photo attempt. Hard to do in the blinding sun, but here goes.

One shot for now. I'm going to watch a movie, so I'll post up more tomorrow.

Unedited. 100 iso, same as it looked like in real life.

5-shot mixed exposure. Not super cartoony like some HDR shots, but it looks way better than the orginial.

Here's the rest. In the last picture of my Evo, I found something awesome in Photoshop that I'm going to have to try on a few other pictures, so these are definetly "first effort".

Was that NSX-R down in calgary in the past few days by any chance? I saw a red NSX-R parked in my neighborhood in the SW a few days ago. So nice:drool:

i could be way off here, but you speak of "HDR" or high dynamic range images, and to begin with combining several exposure rates is actually not true HDR but rather its a method of faking an HDR and allowing for a limited but more complex range than just a single photograph.

but you take it one step further and compress the image into a jpg which removes any exposure information you have added to the image in photoshop post production.

so i gotta ask, why all the work taking several exposures? why not just mess with the contrast etc in photoshop, or save the image with various "photoshop altered exposure rates" and combine thoes.

i think what im getting at is i don't think "HDR" is the proper wording for thoes pictures, but rather you could say just that you used multiple exposures and curve manipulation to get a blown out sky.

i wouldn't even say its "hdr look"

hdr look doesnt have a blown out sky and doesnt have dark shadows, it has range, thats the purpose.

but thoes images don't even show range, this is not possible with a jpg, sometimes you can kinda fake the look but thoes pics don't even fake it.
