Gonna go with a bunch of friends this year, haven't been in the past couple years. Just wondering, are these any fun and how much are samples?

"Tickets can be bought in advance for $19 through our website - www.calgarybeerfest.com"
"Tokens are 50 cents a piece and sold in bundles of 10. Samples typically cost three sample tokens, but some imported beers may cost more. A sample of beer is legally 4oz, which is 1/3 of a bottle of beer."

So you're looking at $19 to get in, plus $1.50/sample -> $4.50/beer. So a $5 bundle of tickets is roughly 1 beer, so you'll probably need $20-$30 of tickets to get drunk. Plus the admission.

I went last year with a friend, got drunk, had fun, tried a LOT of beers. Some good, some really, really bad (beer in a box? they didn't even charge us tokens, they just wanted to see our faces as we tried to down it).

Already got my tickets for Saturdays event!

Plus parking which is $13 if I recall correctly. Please everyone take a taxi or public transportation... better safe than the other way.

I'll be there Saturday. I think the first bunch of people get a free mug, but that may only apply to Friday.

I'ts actually not a bad deal at all considering it costs about the same to get drunk at a bar/pub and you get WAY better beer here, not to mention all different kinds.

People who are complaining about how much it will cost to get drunk at beerfest should just stay home and drink some AGD instead.

It doesnt really cost that much to have a good time, I think i spent about $60 worth of tickets last year and had a great time. Its after beerfest, when you head out to the surrounding clubs and pubs that costs money.
