This is just going to be a fun, but sort of serious, component of a presentation that I will be doing for my psych gender class about advertising & gender.

What are your opinions about these advertisements?
Please keep them intellectual if you can as your opinions can be valuable. :D

1. Do you think that these advertisements illustrate how our society is super conscious of the sexualization of women and holding women in a more sexualized view and position; or,

2. Do you think that instead of sexualizing women, these advertisements only work to allow more of an open environment and acceptance of women's sexualizality instead of negatively decreasing women's image and purpose to sexual objects?

Also, would these attract you people as consumers to purchase from or would it deter you from purchasing knowing that these are the people representing the clothing you would be wearing?

I noticed in thier store alot of the posters are naked women =D
than and again they can say its art but that first four is def's just porn.
btw you love the word intellectual dont you...

I totally agree that it is very pornographic, and am trying to find what most people's opinion are.

There's nothing wrong with the use of intellectual words haha :P

haha awe no I just noticed your post's are very proper, which is good dont get me wrong but you said intellectual in your last thread aswell.
I'd underdstand and consider it art if they didnt come off as a tease or if they were such straight forward poses. But come on the brand name say's enough "American apperal" they must use sex in thier ads to market thier clothing =p money money money

I didn't know I used the word often, but thing is what i learned from reading reponses on Beyond is that sometimes people troll on the boards; and have been conditioned to expect things not to be straightforward. Haha...some people don't respond appropriately or even on the topic posted.
