If you haven't seen this movie, you HAVE to go now! I mean, literally, right now! It's that good, especially in 3D.

The story was so touching, it was also quite hilarious and uplifting... All in one package!

Pixar has made another quality movie and Up right now is better than some of the movie offerings at the moment.

Any agree/disagrees?

But whenever I see that poster...

All I could think of was,

"Mythbusters."

It was way better than Wall-E for me, check it out. Also when I watched in 3D, the whole screen wasn't used for some reason, I think they messed up but I'm not sure.

I thought the 3D wasnt worth it. Like I saw Bolt in 3D and that was worth it. But there was so little 3D in Up! that I think 2D would suffice for most people.

Otherwise, Up! was so good. Holy.

I think they effed up during my screening too (Studio 16 at Country Hills last night.) The 3D adds a little 'oomph' to an otherwise stellar movie. It's unlike Bolt in 3D which was a totally different ballgame.

I was watching some cartoon, Simpsons or something and they had the house floating in the background.

This movie looks awesome.

does 3D cost more or something? Why would you say it's not worth it? I am going to see it tonight.

People who's saying it's not worth it in 3D are cheapskates (no offense.) It's an extra 3 bucks for the glasses and I kept mine because they're so ballin'!

PLUS! Some of the previews are in 3D!

I don't know if it was worth it for me because the screen size was really annoying at Country Hills. I think Monsters vs. Aliens used more 3D but I don't remember it too well.

That black guy on Rotten Tomatoes is an idiot. He always gives movies with 100% a rotten review because he thinks he's cool or something. :banghead:

I noticed that too. It was square instead of letterbox. Maybe it was the film format?

I don't believe so, they probably just messed it up. I was too lazy to complain.

Well I just saw it. I have never seen a movie in 3D before... so I thought the 3D was worth it even though it definitely wasn't utilized as much as it could have been. Seemed there was more 3D in the previews than the movie haha.

Overall, very good. GO SEE IT!

The 3D experience overall is nice. Throughout the movie, just seeing in perspective how things are (i.e. houses from the background, distances, etc) makes me more fun to watch than if it was 2D. So I don't really mind when they don't do many of those "in your face" 3D effects because in general, 3D is utilized throughout.

I think a lot of 3d movies just TRY and be too gimmicky with their 3d, when i was watching the ads for Up! in Monsters vs Aliens it just seemed very natural. Like the scene where the house was lifting up and the 2 dudes are watching it lift i was thinking "WTF Why are there 2 people standing infront of the... oh wait..." it totally caught me off guard!

was debating whether to watch it in 3D or not, but decided to go with regular one since we both wear glasses, still looked fantastic

probably my #1 Pixar movie, even tops Toy Story 1-2.
even the lady loved it and she originally wanted to watch Land of the Lost, she hasn't laughed so much watching an animated movie since Happy Feet.

surprised no talk about the short film 'Partly Cloudy' played before the movie though.
We were laughing the whole time, that alone was worth the $12.50 and funnier than 'Presto' from Wall-E

http://pixarblog.blogspot.com/2009/06/partly-cloudy-on-itunes-store.html
going to create a US Itunes account just so that I can watch it again!

The original ratio is unchanged, the 3D just overlays the original aspect and comes "through" into the larger format.

Partly Cloudy was hilarious! I love Pixar. Can't wait to see what they do next. They've been very creative in terms of storylines for animated movies lately with this and Wall-E. This movie did remind me quite a bit of Howl's Moving Castle from a few years back.

EDIT: Hi, my name is Doug! SQUIRREL!!

 thanks for the recommendation beyond!

Went to see it this past weekend and every good thing that was said in this thread is true. I loved the humour in this movie (left me in tears laughing in some spots), the animations was top notch, and even the story is touching. I agree that the 3D was not overdone (there was more 3D effects in the previews) and the different size of screen did not bother me at all.
