I may get one within the year. I will be paying 25% of the cost of the vehicle and my parent(s) will loan me the rest.

I was thinking something within the price range of $4500 and $7500. I've been looking at Honda Civic's and I even found a R32 Skyline GTS for $4900, right hand drive but later realized how much insurance id have to pay (me being 16 having a right hand drive SKYLINE with 200+HP.)

All I can think of are Civic's. And I hate the hatchbacks.

Anymore cars I should look into?

Something old and American. Cheap parts and no need for collision.

Well I'd look into a Civic or something for reliability, but don't rice it out and lose money when you go to sell. BTW if all you're getting is PLPD (minimum coverage) insurance on a Skyrine is no more than a Buick Century - With RBC, and TD, and most insurance companies I've found anyways.

theres a reason why its 4900....
its not turbo and its cheap quality
plus its like 130hp without the turbo
waste of money...
dont waste your money on heaps of shit, buy something newer for your price range

Here are my picks.

If a....

Honda- 98+ Accord Very nice first car and will definitely make you an enthusiast. Plus good gas milage and good enough power with manuel transmission.

Toyota- Soarer is a great choice in that price range. Way faster than that POS skyline and more stylish. But winter driving isn't as good and neither is gas milage compared to Honda cars.

Nissan- 240 in good condition are cheaper and to mod.

Ugh yeah thats why cars in canada are LHD, because they figured most people were left handed.. Sounds like hes never even been behind the wheel.

pretty useless.....
i guess for a 16 year old boy its alright that you get a car thats got shit for power and absolutley zero reliability

oh btw have fun paying insurance;)

the dealer is going to be cleaning his hands really good after u buy that thing...

eh well what also really got me was the really low km's on that thang. <_<

I dont care about power right now, mainly the look as well...reliability, but how do you know if its reliable or not? It has low kilometers.

I also went to some insurance calculator and searched up the model of the car, the results i got were $90/month.

Well there is very high chance its been rolled back, and even if it hasnt, just because the motor hasnt spun itself as many times as a 2003 civic, the rest of the car around the motor is still 18-19 years old.

Why make a thread if you're going to ignore everyone's opinions, it looks like you've already made your mind with that username anyway.

Btw, being left handed doesn't help you drive on the wrong side of the car.

lol......

but i second the ls400, awesome cars v8 254hp.... rwd....

and they are so comfy... well the ucf11/21/31 with the factory air ride are at least.... and you can even get them in rhd (ucf21 is legal later this year)

and insurance on something in that price range i would just do basic coverage with 1mill liability and fire/theft

so at 16 with clean record you will be looking at $1600/yeah with drivers training and then $100-~$500 for the fire/theft depending on the car (this is for any car) well calgary grid rates at least.... edmonton is slightly different i believe

Integra. Reliable. Tons of (cheap) aftermarket support. Not RHD.

If you want speed, in this case the skyline isnt the car for you. If you want reliability, that skyline is definitely not the car for you. Theres nothing that makes the skyline a good idea. Bad in winter, expensive, and looks? Nothing cooler than a 16 year old in a 19 year old skyrine. Its just a bad idea, get a honda, when you have enough money, satisfy you're hunger for speed with a REAL skyline (gtr) or something like that, but thats in a few years.

ok I have...

Accord
Civic
Integra

I'm also considering a truck. Like someone said in another thread, you can drive over curbs and not do over $9000 of damage. Trucks are also really nice...so much you can do with them. I'll see.

Exactly beat me to it lol i was thinking about a skyline for my first ride and i actually shake my head when i think wow i wanted one of those a car thats the same age as me instead i looked at a 2002 Civic SiR h/b and in my opinion the honda is way more reliable and RHD fpr ur first rideisnt too smart either

For a first car.....

1992+Civic (Coupe, I guess that's what you're looking for.)
1994+Integra
1992+Accord
1985+Camaro
1987+Mustang
1985-87 Nissan 200sx(S12/Turbo)
240sx
Non-turbo 300zx

These are cars that you could have for starters, and end up doing a lot of after market mods to, so eventually you could engine swap, body kit, slam, and make quite nice.

Ever consider a Ford Contour SVT? Only $4500
http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-Ford-Contour-SVT-5-spd-W0QQAdIdZ120366737
One of the best handling FWD cars ever. And it's domestic so parts are relatively cheap.

go buy a 94 and up s10. good trucks, look nice, decent fuel mileage, plus you can go camping ofr whatever 16 year olds do nowadays. You can also lower it for 200 bucks, or raise it up if its 4x4 and there is literally 30 of them @ pick-n-pull if something goes wrong

I suggest a civic coupe,
I love my car =D
Cheap insurance too,

You could get a cavilear, or a probe, probes aren't bad.
I still say Honda FTW
