They dont really seem that fantastic to me. Except for the unlimited options. You could basicly get unlimited everything for just over $100

My current plan with rogers is about par with this.

Does not look like a game-changing recipie.
the Unlimited SMS could be pretty poular with certain segments.

Work cell phones are great but if you work in an industry like IT it really sucks to be on call.

Anyways a little more competition won't hurt the consumer.

I don't notice a difference either, I'd probably pay more with globalive

Maybe the LD rates sounds ok, but everything else seems to be the same as what we've been paying all along...

What I find good is that all monthly plans come with:
Unlimited SMS (Canada and USA), Voice Mail, Caller ID, Name Display, MissedCall, Call Waiting, Call Conferencing and Call Forwarding

So if you get the $29.99 plan,
350 minutes, unlimited evenings and weekends, unlimited incoming

This is a lot better than what the other providers are offering. Usually you have to pay extra for caller ID, voicemail, name display, call forwarding.

My plan with Rogers is currently $25/month, this gives me 200 minues day time calling, Unlimted Ev/Wknds, and caller id.

What I didn't notice on this is if they will make you pay that ridiculous system access fee like the other providers do.

I think that's the game changer right there. This plan on Rogers would have cost at least $10 more.

Data rate still sucks tho. The question is are these guys using the new spectrum or piggybacked to Rogers' infrastructure?

EDIT: NVM, new spectrum which mean possible limited phone choice.

For people like me who spend 6 hours a day on the phone and have $400-$600 phone bills this will save me some good coin a month. If i had a $150 cell phone bill I would be in my glory.

Thats a winner in my books.

I think people are under-estimating the effect of being $10 or even $5 cheaper than anybody else. It's not like buying a car where people will pay extra for a brand name. The VAST majority of cell phone users don't give a rats ass who they pay, as long as they're paying as little as possible.

These guys will take the biggest market of cell phone users away from our current Big 3 provided the savings are legitimate and not just differently worded like Koodo and Fido.

As mentioned, phone selection will be key. If they can't secure popular phones then they're hooped, but I have a feeling they'll do just fine.

I think that last part was meant to say "as long as it's not Telus."

Well it's not a terrible list, just a little short.

Anybody know how long Rogers has the iPhone exclusively for?
