i have noticed that whenever i hit the gas on my car the subwoofer cuts out. any ideas to what the problem may be?

JUST the gas? sounds like some bungled wiring issue

Yeah, sounds a bit more severe. I'd start by checking your grounds - where did you ground everything to? Also check your wiring.

That's where I would start - I could be way out to lunch though.

Is it a Phoenix Gold Sub? if it is I know exactly what the problem is..

can you check (or get someone to) if the amp is cutting out, not the sub? That would make life way easier.

also, check the wires to the sub (in the box) if the amp isn't cutting out. It can only be so many things, just keep eliminating possibilities

Hit the gas at which RPM? If I redline my car it cuts power to the 12 volt, turning the computer off and sends all the power to the car. No idea about the specifics behind it but I upgraded the battery and it seemed to stop.

He's around, he PM'd me. Its a phoenix gold sub like I guessed. Notorious for horrible Tinsel leads on the Octane R series.
