Why is everyone so amazed that it didn't hydrolock? And the quote "now thats what u call german engineering!!!! " BWAHAHAAH, it had nothing to do with it!

I'm actually amazed a woman driver thought to go through the trunk... let alone a BMW driver.

And here I thought she was going to the trunk to save her Jimmy Choos.

She's was pretty smart not to get overly excited, drive super fast and push water up above the hood (getting water into intake)

Yea this isn't anything amazing, a few years back when I had a Pontiac Sunfire, there was a huge storm that hit calgary, some areas were flooded bigtime, was going to a buddies house and the road I was driving on had water covering it, didn't think much of it, kept going and noticed trucks up ahead that had water upto the windows, so turned left through the first intersection thinking it was gonna start heading out of it, I was wrong, it got deeper and had water upto the windows, water was coming over the hood, but didn't last long and got out, luckily a few months before I removed the snorkel on the intake, if I left it in, I would of hydrolocked for sure.
