Such a shame.

According to jalopnik, the driver is OK. There are a a couple possibilities, but I do know that there was a ZR drive from Calgary to Nelson BC this weekend (hence the wicked-awesome spotted on 17th thread).

Edit - my friend was mistaken. The yellow car isn't drivable right now and didn't go on the run.

 WHEN they made them (only 399 of them) they sold for a pretty penny more than $250k.

FFS you can't even get a 430 for that money

enzo's brand new sold for near or over a $million.

Now with the rarity, I bet they will sell for even more.
Such a shame.

Sucks about the fire, but if it was the ZR car couldn't have happened to a nicer doucebag.

Yea I think that custom one (the Ferrari 612 P4/5 i think) used the last untouched enzo. He paid about 2M from what I can remember.

Key word, IF you were lucky enough to be SELECTED for purchase from ferrari, after the cars were originally bought prices skyrocketed.

I wonder what the payout from the insurance company is...it's not like these easy to source. After a quick google search, the 1 car I did find for sale was 1.3 million US. It had just under 3000 miles too.

If that is the car I know the owner fairly well (white shirt). He's a good guy who loves cars just like us. He spent some time trying to find a really low mileage one in the US. I believe he paid north of $1.2 mil for it. He kept it in Kelowna. What an unbelievable disaster. On the bright side nobody was hurt and he still can drive his Carrera GT or 360 Stradale.

I hope thats not Zahir's enzo :O
That car drove my sister to grad haha.

Theres a new Enzo in calgary?
When did that get here?

and i thought Enzo's went for around 1.5Mill when they were first sold, and you needed to own a certain number of exotics to even be invited to buy one.

The cost at launch was just shy of $650,000.

I apologize for the slight incorrect information.

The cars, 400 in total am told, were indeed sold for a price of USD6x0 000. The one for 250 000 was actually a mule - being the only prototype auctioned.

Well my aunt does all the graphics and decals for ZR Auto(Autographics), and she got Zahir to drive my sister to her grad in it.

It was pretty funny because 1. it was raining, and it was the 1st time the enzo had been driven in the rain,
and 2
all the guys were more excited to see the enzo than their dates at grad
=D

There are at leat 3 Calgary based Enzos. 1 yellow and 2 red. The is also a black Alberta plated Enzo but I don't know where the owner lives.

I believe both the Calgarians that own the red Enzos keep them in Kelowna.

Checked with my friend (white shirt in picture) and it wasn't his. His Enzo is parked in his garage at the moment. He said that the one in question is owned by a friend of his who lives just one block from him in Kelowna. How is that for odds? Two red Enzo's within one block of each other? My friend wants to find out what happened to make sure it doesn't happen to his car. I can't imagine what the insurance deductible would be for this claim.

Apparently it was Tom Budd's Enzo, formerly of GMP here in Calgary.

Sad to see such a work of art destroyed, glad he's ok though.

Banker's hot car gets a bit too hot
Boyd Erman

Bankers love hot cars, but this is taking it to extremes.

A Ferrari Enzo, one of the world's most sought-after supercars, burst into flames and burned to a crisp on a road near Kelowna a few weeks ago.

Nobody was hurt, that's the good news. The bad news is it's pretty hard to replace an out-of-production automotive icon, and one can only imagine the insurance deductible.

So who's the owner of the unfortunate Enzo? According to the Calgary gossips, and those obsessives who track supercar ownership, it's none other than Tom Budd, a one-time investment banker with GMP Securities, who has a home in the Okanagan.

Mr. Budd made millions advising oil companies on what to buy and sell, and helping them raise money in stock markets. He's a well-known car nut, and known to take some high-speed turns around a track from time to time.
