A local Theater is installing all new seating. They are removing the old seats. I convinced them to sell the seats, rather the sending them to the dump. There are approximately 900 seats to be had. Price is set around $10 per seat. Condition will vary.

I've got dibs on two rows for myself. I am adding them to my Home Theater as extra seating for the kids.

Removal of the seats starts around July 3rd. If anyone is interested, shoot me a pm.

I will go and get some photos on June 15 or 16 and post them up.

I am not making anything from this. Just sharing the info. I've searched a long time to find some old school seating like this for my home theater. It's hard to come by!!

I will get some pics this week. Maybe monday or tuesday check back.

The seats are from the Memorial Center in Red Deer.

I've been to many shows/concerts there and never thought the seats were uncomfortable.

Even if you have to recover them, these are hard to come by.

Those seats at memorial are super old school IIRC. If I'm not mistaken they're all wood. I'm down for some.

Pics! Apparently there are 700 seats. As you can see, some are in okay shape (I mean the seat cushions) while others need to be recovered. You won't be able to find a whole row is great shape. I will be recovering mine, so I am fine with whatever I end up with. If you don't like a wood back, you can get it covered too.

I'm pretty sure I'm in but how many seats in a row? I was thinking of doing a 5 seats in 2 rows for the basement. How will the 5th seat stand since it's connected to the next one?

You ask a good question. The center rows are very wide, probably over 20 seats. Then there are narrow sections on either side of the center. There are only so many end seats. So some people will have to make due without them. The seats without the end look fine to me.

I'd be in for 4-6. Looks like the side rows are 6 so if they're all attached I'd probably go for that.

Sorry Ck4500, I have to pull back from this. Change of plans in the basement.

These seats are starting to be removed. About 5 rows were taken out this afternoon.

They rows come apart quite easy. One seat is wasted by making a row of 12 into two smaller rows.

Seats will be available for pick up in Red Deer at the Memorial Center. I have picked mine out, and there are about 50 to 60 spoken for. So there is lots to go around.

Anyone interested can pm me.

so drive up to red deer and get them, do you have to take a whole row ? or just pay for the one you ruin to get yours?

CK4500

No, you can take as many out of a row as you like.

Just pay for what you leave with.
